to see different mandolins!
The sound pattern of the gbl mandolins distinguishes itself through highest transparency and enormous volume.
Material as well as the careful preparation of the top bracing are factors that influence the sound of the instrument.
The selection of woods and the type of bracing (X bracing or ladder bracing) affect the "timbre" or the tone of the mandolin.
The top is made out of matured spruce but maple is preferred
For the body - the woods of course also determine the sound of the instrument - maple, Indian rosewood, palisander, walnut and cherry can be selected for this.
Fretboard and bridge are made of ebony or palisander, the edging is created out of woodchips.
The neck is enforced with an adjustable truss rod which is accessible through the sound hole. The shape and width of the neck can be tailored to customer's requirements.
For the machine heads you can select e.g. Schaller-style with mother of pearl tuners.
The mensur measures as a standard 370 mm, saddle and nut are made from bone.
The strings can be installed with the bridge pins or - if preferred - can run over a floating bridge and are secured at a goldplated tailpiece.
